once the bios has everything seen it will post fine and see all the mem.

Ok i have had a call from someone from Kingston Technology, This chap seems to think that its the onboard chipset of the memory that my board has a problem with(KTC 99U5316-010.A00LF). So i think that i will return it to them and hope that the new memory sims work this time.

Just let us know when you do this and what the result is

Also regarding the OS. Just unplug the HardDrive and test ! (Probably done)

Just to be clear here, I pointed out that, in the links I could find;

1 - Asus NEVER claimed that mobo would support Vista of any flavour
2 - Asus NEVER claimed that mobo would support 8 Gb Ram in anything but 4 servers and XP PRO 64 bit.

Further, you wanted to know how to get into Bios and I said remove 2 sticks of Ram.

But the question is why it won't post with 8Gig mounted, irrespective of the OS or even if the HardDrive was unplugged!

That may be a question indeed! But not what I responded to.

Were I the poster, I would investigate his Kingston DDR2 667Mhz PC2-5300 CL5 to make sure it is meant for SLI Ready motherboards and also check out the mobo SLI Memory Ready status as to whether voltage and timings are OK stock OR do they need to be set in Bios ahead of time.
