I just built a new computer: ASUS-M4A785TD-V EVO with 6GBs of Kingston HyperX DDR3-1600 CL9 240pin Dimm shouldn't it show as 1600 speed and not 1333 the part #: KHX1600C9D3K3/6GX can someone tell me if this is right or not,I'm running Win.7 64bit Home Premium. PSU-Corsair 650w.
In order to run your RAM at 1600 on your board the RAM must be overclocked. This is why the motherboard has it set at 1333. See this link and click on the Detail tab: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131398 Great choices on board, memory, and power supply.
Make sure your memory is in ganged mode in the bios. Under the memory options, you will see a multiplier ratio (ie: 1:2, 1:3, 1:3.33, 1:4). Play around with those till you get the right clock speed. For example, on my MSI board, with 4gb of ddr3 1600, the multiplier ratio I use is 1:4. I am not 100% for Asus, but I would guess it is fairly similar.
