Mic keeps muted

Hi,

Im trying to plug in a mic to my PC. I am using Mic rather than Line In if this makes a difference. About 10 seconds it just switches off, it is not shwoed as muted and I can hear other sounds.

The only way to get it to come back is to go into the Mic Properties and tick Listen to this device then untick (because when ticked there is a 1 second delay). The sounds returns but again only for 10 seconds or so


Any ideas?

What are your computers specs? What version of Windows are you running?

Try another microphone

i dunno if it might apply to your problem but look in Ctl Pnl->Sound. Look under Mic Properties (may be an advanced property) but there';s a check box that allows an app to take exclusive use of the mic. Make sure it's unchecked.

You seems to have problem in audio setting. You should re-check all your settings and I hope you will have your problem solved.
