Microphone won't work on XP

    I am having a problem with my microphone which worked fine for the past 2 years ive had it and still does work on other computers. It refuses to pick up sound on my computer. The computer acknowledges that theres a microphone plugged in but it will not work. I dont know what the problem is. Please help me!
