I honestly understand why Microsoft would not release the mini, its just a device that is not needed sadly. Most of the mini-pads have such a niche market and in the end seem all the more pointless to me at least. The drops in performance are not worth it in most cases and we already have smart phones again in most of the cases so the in between size feels rather odd.

My surface pro is already very portable and easy to carry, same with my iPhone 5S. Having something in between feels like a very odd concept in general.

Hey, maybe the "Surface Mini", was one of Steve Ballmer's pet projects. That would be an even better reason not to release it.

I mean really, a mini version of an already mini computer running Windows 8.0, I don't see where you could possibly go wrong with that. Do you?

Troll number 2: Why not just go ahead and release it as, "Big Fat Pregnant Window Phone". You could piggyback the success of the, "just about to surpass the iPhone in popularity", Windows Phone.

Or would you then have to call that the "Windows Phone Junior"....
