Microsoft brings back Windows 7 Family Pack discount

  1. When Microsoft first announced its plan to provide a Family Pack upgrade for Windows 7, the company said it would be a limited time offer. Indeed, in less than two months supplies had largely run out, leaving those who held off from updating early with the option to pay for a full retail license or getting an OEM copy and deal with a few minor restrictions -- which is well worth it in our opinion. Now it appears the deal is back in the same "while supplies last" fashion.

    What are the restrictions on the family pack? Can you share your extra copies with other family members who live elsewhere? Or what if children move out? How is the licence agreement tied if at all?
