Is it safe to remove the older versions of the Microsoft NET Framework to speed up my laptop? Cause my laptops been really slow lately. Or is it a program in my laptop that should not be removed? Here are the Microsoft. NET Frameworks that i have: 1.1, 2.0Servicepack2, 3.0Service pack2 and 3.5 SP1. Thanks.

Why do you suspect the Net Frameworks as slowing you down?

Do the following (if you haven't already):

1. Defrag your harddrive

2. Check the amount of space on your harddrive

3. Run virus/malware/antivirus scans

just fyi...

You can probably uninstall v1.x without any problems. You'll need other versions though (for details see here)

NET Framework is an "application framework" from Microsoft. That means the people who want to develop network based applications for Microsoft computers don't have to do everything from scratch. Rather, there's some common functionality built into NET Framework that an application can simply use to talk to Windows and other NET framework based apps on the network.
