    The best thing about being a Microsoft acadamy student, you get Windows Server 2008 R2 for free. not to mention loads more free software.

    it's a centralized hassle free back-up device, and media server/storage.
    works well if you have 2 or more windows computers in your home.
    also lets you access your home network from anywhere via free domain name.
