Microsoft plans "big announcement" for Monday?

    Google made a splash late yesterday with the announcement of its upcoming Chrome OS, a lightweight and web-centric operating system based on Linux with which they hope to conquer the netbook market. But while the move has been received with both skepticism and hope for a real Windows challenger, some believe the search giant’s timing was merely an attempt to steal Microsoft’s thunder. Apparently, the Redmond-based company is waiting to make a big announcement of its own next week.

    a new browser is just what MS needs. I found that IE 6 was not very secure and that IE7 Crashed al the time. (On all the PCs I used not just mine.) I have gone to Firefox Ever since. I will try a new browser, see if it is any good. In terms of browser, Microsoft have not had a good year, with other browser like firefox and chrome picking up numbers against MS they will be looking to get some users back. Also Windows 7 is not shipping with IE. (In Europe)
