Microsoft updates Windows 10 Technical Preview to build 9860

windows 10 is actually really well done. a good upgrade from win 7. and having a notifications system has been one of the most requested features. how about you stop hating for no reason and start testing it.

Assume much? I have tried it and like it. I just don't want microsoft to ruin it again.

By using "phone features" (when done correctly) you can actually close the gap between windows and windows phone. Making it a lot easier for someone with a windows 10 laptop and a windows tablet to get a windows phone since the OS will show similar features.

Why do people with an iPhone tend to buy an iPad instead of a tablet? Because of similarity in features and because you can sync the devices. So why shouldn't Microsoft do the same?

That's great that they want to create a consistent ecosystem but it's not a wise idea to shaft businesses and professionals in the process. As it is right now, it's much better than 8. If they keep simplifying everything to make it universal, all it will end up as is mediocre.

Lol talking about backfiring :p

Ahh yes, more snotty comments about windows. That's what posts lack.

At least my post has some personality. Your's is just a snotty comment about other's snooty comments. Like the guy yelling at others for cross walking while cross walking.

Sounds like this is a good time for you to join the 15 other people who use Linux instead

If there was a competing OS that could do what windows does, I would in a second. For desktop users, windows has a monopoly. Hence why they can afford to have every other OS branded junk.

Ahh yes, more windows phone features. That's what microsoft needs to add, more feature from another failed operating system will make this one so much better!. Different uses you say? We'll just call the poor use of screen space and disregard for M&K "feature".

I'm starting to think that microsoft somehow uses phones to tablets to program their OS, every step they take forward the go two back.

Have you actually installed and used the tech preview? There's not a whole lot to complain about. It's a fine OS.

I doubt they installed anything. It's a typical MS hater crybaby response.

Good god, learn to [ quote ] [ / quote ] mr personality.

Yeah the thing is snotie comments receive snotie comebacks, maybe its just me.

Can't even take the time to read the comment two above yours? Looks like you put less effort into this than any Microsoft "crybaby" does into their comments.

No, your just too personally invested into the conversation. My comment was that I disliked the new features being presented. You jumped to the conclusion that I hate microsoft and decided to write that comment.

Well The updated build has messed with the lettering on a lot of websites and in the UI of windows. I seem to be words seem to be missing a lot of letters now. Strange.

I've got the same. Looks like there's a problem with the fonts.

Further on the text problem, it's so bad that I can't even identify or send a report in the correct space to Microsoft. Does anyone else have this problem?

I had a bad experience with Windows 10. I got it, and I couldn't OC my GPU. Closed my games every time. So I just re installed 7 and was happy.

Grrr all these constant UI changes make me grumpy, and I hate change.
Can someone please make a Custom UI that brings back the Win8 look, charms and start menu?
I'm sure someone who's tested it can confirm, but I believe I read somewhere that Windows 10 has the option of using either the start menu, or the start screen. The charms bar I believe is gone for good though.

That option is under the start menu tab in taskbar properties. The Charms bar is still there, if you choose to use the start screen. It can also be opened with the Win + C keyboard shortcut. Otherwise it never shows up.

I think you don't get the idea behind preview systems, they are not meant to replace your main rig.

It would be awesome if Microsoft thought about giving the option to install previews in another partition to dual boot.

Remember guys, this is still around 8-10 months away from release. it's pre-beta, don't expect drivers and software to work as intended for everything and everyone. it still has plenty of bugs and unfinished features.
