  1. when i play minecraft i get lag spikes when i walk past certain areas. the size of these areas is normally like 6 or 7 squares. i run minecraft using optifine around 25fps. without optifine its like 6fps. i would like to know is it normal to have lag spikes in the same area everytime i walk in that area and its more then one area. i have restarted on multiple worlds and these lag spots are constantly popping up. is there anything i can do to get rid of them?

If you are running a 64 bit operating system be sure you have the 64 bit version of java.

You can tell this by adjusting the view distance slider to far in minecraft video options, If you receive a red error message you have 32 bit java, update to 64.

Lag is normal in areas with a lot of things moving, pistons, lava, mob spawners ect.

Minecraft is quite intensive on your cpu strangly.
