A new range of motherboards from ASRock will make it possible for flawless upgrades to more powerful and advanced 64-bit chips from AMD.

The mobos will allow special add-in cards that should be bought separately and plugged into mobos to accomodate the AMD 64 chips. The boards will come with everything you would expect from a mobo of its time, including AGP 8x, Serial ATA-150 and Parallel ATA-133 with RAID capability and all the usual bells and whistles. Its not clear currently how the adaption between Athlon XP and AMD 64 will work, but the smart money is on the inclusion of some kind of AMD64-supporting core-logic or a specially-developed bridge chip.
