Modem keeps disconnecting

  1. Hi

    So my modem keeps disconnecting....
some times it lasts for some hours and then starts disconnecting every minute or so. Sometimes I just turn the computer on and it already starts his routine of disconnections.
this has been happening for about 2 moths.

    what I have already done:
    *got a new modem (dlink 500b > dlink 2730b)
    *full virus/spyware scan
    *disabling antivirus/firewall
    *update network adapted driver
    *configured a static ip address
    *enabled DMZ host
*called the ISP: they said that everything was fine on their part and I should check the cable
*called the cable guys: said that everything was fine so I should check with the ISP
    *ended the vicious circle.
*ask help on forums (in progress...)
*future plans: set everything on fire

    ADSL Modem
    What's connected to it?

    Router? or PC direct?

ISP told you the modem is working but on your PC side your seeing disconnections. Are you using filters on your phones to run this Modem. Takes one filter to cause issues.

Alessandro, what did you do to fix your problem?I also have a Telkom DLink DSL-2750U router and it keeps on disconnecting the Internet. My ISP use to be with Telkom, but I have since switched to Openweb and now I even get more Internet disconnections. The last few log events are as follow:

Man, you like living on the hairy edge. Your PC can be directly attacked by anyone with this configuration - -

    GOOD LUCK. :sigh:
