Monitor and CD Rom drive not getting Signal from Motherboard

  1. Hello,

I am very frustrated with the computer I am trying to build lol. When I boot up the computer the monitor says that it has no signal from the video card and the CD ROM will not eject CDs. When I unplug the IDE connector from the motherboard the the CD ROM drive opens and closes. I have an Asus P5VD2-X motherboard. Someone please help.

If you have pulled the IDE cable out of the motherboard with the computer powered up, you may have damaged the motherboard or the IDE device
