Hi

I have a problem with my Dell monitor (Dell 2005 FPW).
It is connected via a DVI port, my problem is that when ever a program needs to reboot into DOS to do anything(Like PartionMagic or defrag program etc) it goes into power saving mode.
Which mean I can never see the options etc so I usually end up randomly pressing keys (yeah I know not very bright thing to do)

Is this a feature of DVI or is there a setting somewhere so that the DVI port still sends a signal to the monitor even outside of windows?

many thanks for any advice

Cheers
Jon

What kind of a video adapter do you have? If it's an integrated one, then there may be an option in the BIOS to set the default port for video output.

Hi Nodsu,
thanks for the reply, unfortunately (or fortunately depending how you look at it) have I got a discreet graphics card.
The card is an nvidia 7950 gx2.
I havent been able to find anything in the Nvidia control panel controlling this
