Monitor wont turn on with GeForce 6600

  1. Just purchased Chaintech GeForce 6600 video card and after I seated it the monitor displays 'no signal input' and windows will not start. I had a much older and much worse video card that worked and still does when i put it back...this one will not. I've read that this might be a power issue?, but dont know what that means. help! :confused:

    Computer specs:
    Windows XP pro
    AMD Athalon 1.51 Ghz
    768 MB RAM
    149 GB free hard drive memory

    what is your power supply? on the side of the power supply should be a label what is the overall watts? and look to see how much is being dupplied to the +12V rail it should be around 15A. if you have a cheap underpowered PSU that could be causing your problem. if yu still have the box the card came in look on it for the required MINIMUM power supply requirements.

    Thanks for the help...I didn't know about the molex connector - that was the problem. :grinthumb
