Can someone please tell me. When looking for a monitor to play games on what sort of responce time should I go for?
Also I see 500:1 and 700:1 alot, what does this mean?

The response time numbers on newer LCDs are rather pointless. Better try out some or ask people about their experiences.

The numbers you asked about is the contrast ratio between the whitest white and blackest black available. You want to go as high as possible.
