More memory for a X2 processor

I recently upgraded to an AMD 3800 X2 (from sempron 3000)
I had 1.25 gig before.
Would it be sensible to upgrade to 2.25 gig?

I just noticed it seem to be using more memory.
However there is no real reason for this?

Or is there?

I have already ordered an extra gig so it's bit of a mute point.


Interesting I was just looking at memory usage

I have total 1309mb
available 118mb


Now I used to have a about 700mb available on the single core IIRC. It had been creeping up though.

I'm not sure why your memory usage has increased so sharply. Was there any software new software installed?

However, an extra gig of RAM will not hurt.

I seemed to notice the problem aster I downloaded a program to access my memeory requirements. The Crucial memory scanner.

Lets face it they have an incentive to screw up your PC (not that they would do that )
