Mouse highlights everything

    HI all,

    Need some help here. I got a problem with my mouse tracker/pointer.

    1st scenario:
    When I pointed my mouse pointer to one of the icon from the desktop it will highlight all icons which goes up and down very fast and continously.

    2nd scenario:
    When I click on start, pointed mouse on the top portion it will highlighted everything, up and down and I wasn't able to control the mouse.

    Here are the steps I have made to figure out the solution:
    disconnected mouse - problem persist
    changed the keyboard - problem persist
    created another account - problem persist
    checked mouse settings - problem persist
    updated bios to its latest version - problem persist
    reformat OS to its default factory settings - problem persist

    Note that this problem happens intermittently. I thought that after reformatting the OS and use the machine for about 6hrs it would solved the problem. But then problem persist again. Any idea would be a great help. Thanks.

    Lenovo X61T is a laptop. Are you referring to the touchpad on the laptop or a connected mouse?

    If it is a separate mouse, need make and model number.

    If it is touchpad:
    Control Panel> Mouse> Touchpad> UNCHECK tapping> decrease Sensitivity> Pointer Options tab> change speed to middle between Fast and Slow> Gestures tab> set NONE in all 4 corners.

    See if that improves the highlighting.
