what format are the songs? itunes protects its files as well so that they cannot be used elsewhere. there are tools out there that can allow you to remove the protection but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be able to access every file.

i only use itunes now,but i have a few songs in windows media player i bought from napster.i can't import them into itunes because napster has they're licensing issues or whatever.guess I'm screwed.oh well.no more napster.

Can you burn those songs ? If yes, burn them & re-rip them in iTunes. Not a very elegant solution but it should work.
