Adding to its array of netbooks, MSI has introduced the 3.3lb Wind12 U230 Light, which shrinks its predecessor's 12.1-inch package to a more compact 11.6-inch footprint – or in the company's words, "smaller than a sheet of A4 paper." The updated system features an AMD-based ultrathin platform, including the 1.6GHz Athlon Neo MV-40 processor and Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics.

Additional specs provided on Amazon's product include a 1366x768 display resolution, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, three USB 2.0 ports, 802.11b/g/n wireless, a 4-in-1 card reader, HDMI-out, a 6-cell battery, and a 64-bit copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. Besides marketing babble like "60% less power consumption than standard notebooks," no battery life is given.

The Wind12 U230 Light is priced at $400 and as noted, it's currently available online through Amazon, but there's only four left in stock with "more on the way." Office Depot also has the system on hand for $380 with a $20 instant rebate. Both merchants offer free shipping.
