Multi-boot XP on a Compaq Presario 5000

hi yall

well I have a compaq presario 5000.
I just swap'ed hd's an did a fresh install of xp..

now wen I try to boot frum disc(to make other xp boot or us recovery) after presing any key to boot cd it stales at scaning for hard wear !

I partioned the hd 100gb :C(storage) /18gb :F(the initial xp install) /18gb :G(other xp to come) /13gb :H(other xp to come).

I can boot any other disc other than any xp disc.

any info will help!

Is this the same windows disc that you used to install the first xp? I would boot to the current xp, pop in the disc and see if the windows screen opens and appears like the pic below, If it doesn't then you may have a bad disc.

ya both disc have that window if pc is all ready boot'ed..
well I have like 2 boot-abul xp's and both do the same ..lock's up after the "scaning for hard wear.
but boots fine on other pc's..so i cant evan us the disc to boot recovery..
