I have just upgraded a computer for someone as follows:
    Phenom x4 965
    4GB memory
    ASUS AM3 mobo
    2 x 320GB hard drives (Raid 1)
    2 x radeon 5570 graphics

He has 6 17" monitors, 3 attached to each graphics card, I set them up through graphics properties so they were in the correct order, ie 1 - 6. The problem he is finding is that sometimes when he comes to use it the monitor formation has altered eg. 1-2-3-5-4-6 which is a pain and he has to keep changing then back to how they were.
Can any of you guys explain why the monitors appear to be changing their position in the setup.

What operating system are you running and how are you connecting 3 monitors to each of the 2 video cards? HDMI, VGA and Svideo?

Windows 7 64bit, each card has a vga, dvi and a displayport connector, where necessary adapters to vga are used as all monitors are only vga.
