My computer loads to the windows xp screen then stops

my computer was working fine today then it froze up so i turned the power suge off and hit restart usally this doesnt do anything but this time the computer would load get to the windows xp screen with the bar under it loading then it would restart. iv tryied loading it normal, last known configuration. i even tryied safe mode but the same thing happens........if some1 could help me with this it rly great help thanks

do u know how to do a Windows repair with the CD\DVD?

perhasps are you talkin about the recovery system?

no I am not, when u start with the cd after windows loads the first set of drivers, it is then ready to install Windows, but right before it reformats it ask a last time if u want to repair, at this point u click yes, then it will act just as if u reformatted and will install everything but will nothing destructive u will just have to do Windows update again to get things back as they should be. if u have more questions just ask.

Your symptoms are typical of a failed hard drive.
Try cold booting to SAFE MODE. If it does not boot in SAFE MODE, time to shop for another hard drive.
