I've tried swapping out 3 different DVD drives and I still have the problem. It will read burned DVDs as DVDs, it reads CDs as CDs, but when I put a blank DVD in, it thinks it's a CD and won't let me burn files to it.
Yep, I'm able to burn using CloneDVD and other programs. I only run into problems when I'm trying to burn files through Windows. At this point, I'm guessing I could probably use third party software instead.
Oh. i believe that the burning software that comes as part of Windows only supports burning CDs (by design). Windows' native software doesn't burn DVDs. period. You definitely need 3rd party software in that case
