Help! I have a Dell 4700 with a 16x DVD-ROM drive (no burner) and when I insert a blank CD in and I try to save a file to it, the screen says there is no disc in the drive.

    Please help!

Unless you have a cd burner, you won't be able to move that file to cd. When you move a file to cd, that's what you are doing, burning it. Also, you may have to format the blank cd before moving files to it. But for that you need the appropriate software and cd burner anyway.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

As Mailpup says. You can`t burn a cd in a dvd-rom drive. You would either need a cd writer, or a dvd writer.
