My jack and computer speakers don't work

So I installed windows 7 and ever since my speakers and jack don't work, I tried deleting the devices in device manager and they still don't work, also I have a somewhat old computer which may be part of the problem? Oh and my usb headset does work.

Have you tried setting the speakers as your default playback device?

Theres a device thats defined as digital audio s/pdif (high definition audio device), my usb headset and nothing else it seems.

So did a scan for drivers don't know if that can be helpful? Oh and I tried to use the windows drivers updater.

What's the make of your laptop? I'd say go to their web site and download the Win7 drivers. And stop by Intel's site: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu

It's lenovo and I tried going on their website and downloading the driver but it didn't work out, also tried that intel's thingie didn't work out either. support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page? there doesn't seem to be drivers for window 7 ultimate

The model is 3000 N100 and the product id is 07686KF

Looks like the N100 comes in 2 different audio device, either SoundMax or Realtek. Going by Lenovo's fourm: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows...100-windows-7-sound-driver/td-p/106778/page/5

your particular model have SoundMax. Take a look at the instructions here. Basically, you'll be installing SoundMax driver for Vista.

If your bluetooth, modem, etc. isn't functioning, the Vista drivers should work. Search for N100 from Lenovo's support page.
