Apparently he forgot it was plugged into to the ac adaptor and walked off with it and fried the inside ac connection. I took it all apart and the ac connection had actually melted (it looks like a little toaster). It appears that it fried sometime back and he just sort of did the final straw.
A guy on ebay sells the part $3.99 plus shipping, but is this a common part I can get at radio shack or at a computer store? Hard to install?
