My monitor stay in power save mode after long idle only

  1. Am having a problem with my monitor and power saving mood

    My Mobo is Gigabyte EP45-D6Q

    Graphic card ATI Radeon HD 4850 With last driver 10.9

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz

    Monitor LG flatron L 1750SQ with a vega cable

    i have my monitor power saving settings to shut down monitor after 5 min, when i touch the mouse or keyboard after a short time of idle the monitor come back from savepower mood, if it goes into a long time idle once i touch the mouse the monitor power button keep flashin and i have to turn it off and on manytimes from power button till it come on, i changed the vga cable and installed graphic last drivers, i have no problem with the monitor as long its on, it only does that after LONG idle can someone help me plz?

    Five minutes is too short a time for monitor shut down in a desktop. Increase the monitor shut down time to 30 minutes. Also check the BIOS settings for "wake up" options. You might try setting the bios to its defaults
