My monitor won't show anything

I have a desktop pc that i built and it was running fine for a few months and then it shut off and the screen turned all kinds of colors. So i bought a new video card thinking that was the problem but its not cause i turn my computer on and the fans and everything turn on but nothing come on my monitor. I can open the cd drives and everything, the light on my motherboard lights up too.. i tried takeing the ram out and switching the slots and that did nothing, and also the light on my mouse and the lights on my keyboard dont light up when the pc is running.. any ideas?

yea thats what im thinking cause when you take the ram out and start up your computer shouldent it beep
