I'd have gone with that myself if it had existed when I picked up my 600D.
Although been quite happy with the cable routing and just great build quality, tool-less drive rails etc. etc.
Running two identical cards in "Crossfire" now rather than the default ATI style lower one in the pic.

Thanks for posting! I really like to see other people's setups.

I see you removed the HDD case for the video cards. That wasnt completely necessary was it?

Nope, fitted in without any problem. Just didn't have anything to put in the secondary cage, so thought I'd remove it for ease of putting cables through behind the motherboard. Now have the H50 pump connected to the header beside the reservoir and the reservoir fans go out beside the top fan to a splitter and connect to the CPU fan header.

For anyone who is interested... Newegg is offering a coupon code for the Corsair Obsidian 650D which gets it around $169.99 (USD) before rebate.

Sorry mods, hope this isnt against any rules.

EDIT: And apparently no S&H charge, so I'm not waiting any longer. I have purchased this case. Thanks guys, anyone want some custom pics on it? I'll upload on request...

Will be interested to see it installed nicely. Such a nice case. Reminds me of the old Lian-Li aluminium cases but with modern cable management, tool-less gadgets etc.
  8. Trillionsin TechSpot Enthusiast Posts: 889   +10

Sure. I'll get a pic of the completed setup with some nice cable management for you.

This is well beyond the $200 price point you set, but my next case is gonna be a black CaseLabs TH10 with a pedestal mount.

    That thing looks humongous!
  11. Wendig0 TechSpot Paladin Posts: 998   +47

    It is :D

I've been looking at it for a while now, but it's so expensive I'm gonna have to sell my Cosmos S before I can consider it.

You could always sell your desk and use that as a replacement!
  13. Wendig0 TechSpot Paladin Posts: 998   +47

    You know that's not a bad idea:rolleyes:

Your Cosmo S looks pretty decent, tad expensive. $200 on newegg.com. I bought a Thermaltake case, kinda reminds me of yours. Somewhat disappointed with my decision now... but it was my first PC build on my own. It works great... but the large fan on the side just quit working. Oh well, guess it's good I went with water cooling.

The large fan on the side gave me problems too, but it wasn't a matter of the fan not working; my cpu heatsink was just too tall for the side fan to clear it. I ended up removing the side fan, which incidentally made cleanup a lot simpler as well (a 200mm fan pulls in a TON of dust).

My computer is currently in a Danger Den Torture Rack test bench while I clean up the Cosmos and prep it for sale. Even though it is in perfect condition, I'll probably only ask $165 or $170 for the Cosmos S to sell it faster.

As far as liquid cooling goes, I have everything but 2x Aqua Computer aquagraFX GTX460 blocks (though I might switch to the 580), and the 18 Bitspower Shining Silver compression fittings I need.

    Currently I have
    1x HWLabs Black Ice SR-1 360
    1x HWLabs Black Ice SR-1 240
2x D5 pumps (Bitspower mod tops to come in the future)
1x Aqua Computer Kryos XT cpu block
    2x Bitspower 150 water tank z
    10x 120mm Xigmatek XLF-F1255 white LED fans
A buttload of MDPC-X vanilla sands and grand bleu sleeving

Sounds like a nice setup you have there.

Still seems a little steep for a used case, even if its in perfect condition. It's on newegg for right around $200. Personally I'd rather pay that extra to get an unused item. Just my opinion.

I hear you, and personally I'm of the same mindset. I'm just going off of prices I've found online (ebay and craigslist) for the same case in similar condition.

This "hot-swappable" hdd dock doesnt act very hot-swappable...

Didnt Techspot review this case? Corsair 650D?

I'm going to have to see if they tested out the dock in the review...
  19. Trillionsin TechSpot Enthusiast Posts: 889   +10

So either I am doing something wrong, or whoever reviewed this didnt actually test out the dock. If anyone has any information, it would be helpful. Are there options in the BIOS? On first thought, I would say this is just like taking a power cable and sata cable and trying to plug in a HDD while the system is on... usually that just doesnt work, right?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

PS. Pics coming soon for those who requested.

I'm kind of surprised that nobody could post and help me out with this... however I got this solved with a slight BIOS adjustment.
