Motherboard Monitor is reading my Case at 44*c and my CPU is reading at 37/38*c, are these good temps?

    My PC is:

    Sony Vaio RX881
    P4 2.66 533bus
    512mb DDR2100
    120gb 7200rpm
    Geforce4 MX440 64mb
    XP Home

Minus the Disc Drives, didn't figure those were important. All the cooling and everything is stock.

Doesn't display temperature readings for Video Card, HD, or Ram, not sure if its supposed to or not.

    Thanks:cool:

    Those are indeed good temps.
Infact, that cool for a CPU.
60C+ is getting warm, so you have nothing to worry about.

    I was gonna say...:dead:

I find it very odd that your CPU temp is lower than your ambient temp, lol, that's impossible without equipment that I'm sure a "everything stock" Sony VAIO doesn't have. Are you sure it's not the other way around, that your CPU temp is 44C and your ambient temp is 37-38C? If not then your thermal diodes are malfunctioning somehow.
