I plan on getting a gtx 550 ti and I need a 400W PSU, but I've been told that there are some bad brands out there. I don't know much about computers so I'd thought I would ask here.

So... any recommendations? I'm trying to keep it under a budget of $50.

Normally I would recommend Corsair for PSUs however the CWT OEMed builder series appears to be hit and miss with allot of DOAs or failures within a few months. For this reason and the fact that there are allot of other good PSUs in their price range I don't generally recommend them.

I would personally recommend one of the following:
    ENERMAX NAXN ENP450AST 450W = $40
    Antec NEO ECO 400C 400W = $45
PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III PPCMK3S400 400W = $70 ($50 after rebate)
