I disagree completely with Alster37. The 1GB version of the HD4670 wouldn't make any difference.

Gluck on that monitor. Seems like some loose wire somewhere. I'd open it up before chucking it in the bin...

Tss.. Thanks, bit pessimistic though :)
It worked... but that was a year back. :p No matter how much i tug at it, nudge it, plug unplug it, it just doesn't seem to work. Rather adamant I'd say.
Nah, I think I'm gonna sell it on Ebay :p

    Hi Fellows!
It seems the retailers don't seem to have the 512mb variant. Should I order the 4670(512mb) online or go ahead by purchasing the 1gb variant?

yes, get the 512MB version as CHM stated, 1Gb of memory on a low end card such as the 4670 will have absolutism no positive effect on performance. in other words...if you can fond the 512mb version...buy it. If you can find the 1Gb version....buy the 512 version. :)

The trouble with performing any online transactions is that I'll have to pay through a credit card.... If only they would accept cash!! :p
I'm still looking for an alternative, else the obligatory - 1gb(most hesitantly!).
Also, those are some fine PC specs Red :) I'm Green with envy :p

Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 is nice graphics card. I have it and works very well. There is no problem regarding graphics. It is very effective and robust. So, do not worry about that. Its the best option for graphics card.

This gives me one more reason to reaffirm my commitment to never shop there.

Haha. Nah it seems the trouble is with the moitor! Changing of the wires didn't help.
I finally got my video card :D
    MSI HD 4670 1gb!
Thanks a ton for your help and advice fellows :) Really appreciate it!

I already know not to shop there unless I can afford to waste that money. Or test it first. Or unless its not possible for it to be faulty, without it being very apparent.

    Hi Folks!
    Sorry for reviving the thread.
Just an update. The line on the monitor mysteriously disappeared after I installed my video card along with Windows 7. Looks like I'm keeping this one.
