  1. Hello.

I have an old dell which i've been setting up for editing,
and i just bought a dvi to vga converter but I keep getting a black screen on it.

    my pc:
    Windows professionel service pack 2
    dell dimension 4550
    intel pentium 4 2.4 gig
ati radeon 9500 pro with an dvi and vga connection
    2 gig ram

i would like to set it up with two Compaq 7500 screens.

    Anybody has any id?
i've been searching for about an our now and i can't seem to find the solution.

You bought a DVI->VGA converter? If its anything other than the free ones they give away with video cards then that may be your problem.

Your video card has to have the capabilities to run two monitors. If it does then you will more than likely need to do it with the software that came with the ATI video card. It may be something in the control panel. Once you do that then you need to extend your desktop. Here is an article on how to do that.. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/hwandprograms/monitors.mspx
