My CPU cooler just died so I’m looking for a new one, the one I had came with the CPU when I bought it. It’s an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 6000+ Socket AM2. I seem to have trouble finding a doable cooler though, mostly because I don’t know enough about the subject I think, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of coolers out there anymore for AM2 either. So far the closest thing to something useful I’ve been able to find was MASSCOOL 5F9001B1H3 80mm Ball CPU Cooler - Retail Specifications : Dimensions Heat sink : 80x80x32 mm (l x w x h) 12VDC Fan : 80x80x25 mm Bearing: Ball bearing Rated speed: 3200RPM +/-10% Rated power: 2.64W (Max) Noise level: 32.0dBA (Max) Air flow: 36.43CFM Current: 0.22A (Max) Connector: 3 Pin, mainboard Life hours: 50,000 hours Application AMD: Socket: 754, 939, 940, AM2, and AM2+ CPU: AMD Athlon 64, AMD Athlon FX, AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core, Business Class-AMD Athlon, Business Class-AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core, AMD Phenom X4 Quad-Core, AMD Sempron, AMD Opteron CPU TDP: <= 89W Thermal resistance: 0.298°C/W Thermal type: White grease pre-applied Another website mentions “AMD: Socket AM2 Athlon 64 X2 (Dual Core)~ 5200+” under this coolers compatibility. Do you think I can use this fan or should I look for something else and in that case does anyone have any suggestions?
