Need help in buying mobo and cpu

  1. hi,

    1.can anybody tell me that intel s3000AH Motherboard supports Quad core 2.4ghz(not a xeon) cpu? I very much confused about it

    pls. help me and reply me soon.

    You mean the $180 Q6600?

    No it doesn't. Why do you ask? thats a server board your looking at. For $200, there are MUCH more useful boards that work for home use. Why are you building a new computer?

    If yes, tell us a budget and purpose of the computer.

    Intel Pentium D / Pentium EE / Pentium 4 / Celeron D


    A home server, that could be tough if you can't find out what procesors are compatible with that mobo but...

    Any Core 2 Duo from the E4000 and E6000 series will work, as will any Core 2 Quad from the Q6000 series. So basically, no 45nm CPU will work. Check out the CPU Support list here.
