Need help with choosing USBs

Hello there,

I am in need of buying some USBs. I was thinking about a size of 16 to 32GB. I don't want anything extremely expensive, but something that is good quality, will not get damaged, and will stay "alive" for quite some time. I would also like to have good transfer rates, as speed is always a good thing.

I don't know what the budget is as I am not familiar with the prices of USBs.
I don't have USB 3 compatible motherboards yet. I don't know if you pay extra for USB 3.0. Also, is USB 3.0 backwards compatible with 2.0?

Backwards compatible, yes. I can tell you to stay away from the new Sandisk Cruzers, they are slowwwwww! If you can find an older "Sandisk Micro Cruzer" The one with the "U3 Software" included, it has outperformed my expectations.

What about Kingston DataTraveler R500 32GB

The few reviews that there are look decent, though I can't recommend a product that I've never used.

I just don't want it to tear down like some cheap junk.
