i recently purchased several laptops at a auction and one of them has a power-on password .

can someone help find a master password for it ?

it's a gateway solo 9300 the specs are as follows
    pheonix bios 4.0 release 6.0
    system software version 16.86

any help would be greatly appreciated

    regards pittviper

The BIOS password is stored on a security chip that is soldered onto the board. The only way you can get rid of it is to replace the chip (requires professional help), find a password reset dongle (or make one, if such a thing is even available for your model) or find a master password (There isn't one on a lot of laptops these days...).
