Need help with sound driver after downgrading to XP

    I have a Compaq laptop cq50-215ca that came with Windows Vista..

    I installed win xp pro and have most everything working properly, except no sound...

    The conexant driver that came with this machine loads but does not work...

    I found a thread here from a couple of years ago where a guy with the almost identical machine had the exact same problem...

    he found a set of rar files with drivers that solved the problem...some searching and I found numerous places with links to these files...but all the links are no good...

    Does anyone have a driver that will make my sound work again...?
