Need SP2 CD/DVD for Win XP Pro 64-bit

  1. I have recently installed Win XP Pro 64-bit on my computer and it appears to work normally. So far, however, I have not been able to successfully download and install SP2 for the O/S.

I've also not been able to locate a CD of SP 2 on the Microsoft website.

Does anyone know if Microsoft sells/sold a CD version of SP2 for Win XP Pro 64-bit?

And if so, how I might be able to obtain a copy of it?

    Thanks much.

Microsoft stopped selling the SP 2 disk when they brought out SP3, which is what you should order or download.

At the risk of being the village *****, is SP3 for 32-bit, 64-bit or both?

I've seen a lot of comment on this, most of it contradictory.

    Thanks.

Both, and it is a significant improvement... if your other Microsoft software is legal.

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, my Microsoft software is legal and registered.

I look forward to the improvements.:)

This is a wrap-up to my own post.

After researching the matter I found that I could download the Win 2003 Server x64 Service Pack 2 as either an ISO file to create a CD or as an update. Both will work with Win XPP x64.

As I am not able to get the URL to paste directly in this window, I will suggest that the easiest way to locate the site is to search for

Microsoft Server 2003 x64 Service Pack 2 download

This should pull up the URL for you.
