Need to greatly increase wireless range

  1. hello,

i have a 2wire DSL wireless router from ATT&T. wireless works great ofcourse near the router like maybe 50 feet or so away. however we have another desktop machine many rooms away and i need to get the wireless range to reach to the other rooms. its a fairly big house. i have tried the linksys range booster, but it was a waste of my time and money. is there a better commercial router that can send the signal farther or a stronger signal to get through all the walls? what are you suggestions?

There are better routers than the 2wire.. but have you considered a Switch to 802.11n ?

It has indoor rating of 70 meters/230 feet

802.11g has only about half of that

I just upgraded to 802.11n and it made a huge difference. Went from 54Mbps to 150-170. Thats with a $17 router and $14 wireless USB adapter.
