My cousin build me a computer from scratch and it's pretty outdated and I got into gaming so I need the best. I was wondering how to do this. Basically all I know is that I need better parts (i know im a newb).. So where do i start? And suggesting parts would be awesome.. keep in mind that I ain't a rich kid who can afford everything so keep it reasonable

How much do you want to spend?

and are you just upgrading your current pc, or building a new one?

    Hi booman,
whats your budget for this? oh and PSU = power supply unit
GPU=graphics processing unit (your video card)
  7. hellokitty[hk] I'm a TechSpot Evangelist

Can you confirm your motherboard is AGP, and "PSU" means power supply, that would be good to know too.
    He doesn't have one :(.
  8. booman111 Newcomer, in training

as hellokity said i supposedly don't have a video card which is a must have for gaming I imagine.. and about that AGP thingy *whatever that is.. i don't know how to confirm but i can tell you i got those info from "run" (i forgot what i typed) so its probably accurate. and budget is whatever just not too over the top as in 4+ grand, cause im playing on saving up so it's no rush, so if you know theres a good part coming out soon then i could wait. Thanls a lot guys in advance

  12. booman111 Newcomer, in training

wow.. you know your stuff... thanks a lot and for my monitor i have a HP w2007 which is great i guess (correct me if im wrong) and as for mouse and keyboard i got a logitech cordless desktop EX110, im not sure if its for gaming but its pretty good for everyday stuff right now but i would like to hear your suggestions..and for speakers i got logitech Z3 ( http://bigshop.lv/img/logitech_z3.jpg ).. oh and im probably going to buy all this stuff around december ish so if anything new coming out during that time i'd rather by that .. well if its better but im guessing newer is better right?
  13. AndrestheBean Newcomer, in training

dude a bunch of new stuff is getting released this december!!!!!

your monitor is a 20 inch, correct if im wrong. i would go a little bigger. but its up to you.
and i have seen some negative reviews on your monitor too.

do you want a sound card? (really good audio)
  14. AndrestheBean Newcomer, in training

also if you want a affordable gaming rig with a lower price, thats do-able.

like a good amd build can dominate most games on high settings.

it mostly depends on your graphics card.

    (if the prices scared ya)
  15. booman111 Newcomer, in training

sure why not whats a good sound card and monitor? .. if im going to do it better do it right lol .. oh and if you know whats coming out december and if you know its better can you tell what they are , kinda like what you did already

  18. AndrestheBean Newcomer, in training

well the new suff thats coming out, is around september-december timeframe.

    and the prices are unknown.
  19. AndrestheBean Newcomer, in training

your computer cant even handle world of warcraft :)

but if you want you can buy a mid-end video card.

check what slot you have, this should help.
