Needed info off old harddrive

OK so I have this old hard drive. I somehow fried the old motherboard of the old hard drive and I bought a new PC. Since I needed the 600 pictures I took the time to scan and edit, I took my old hard drive out of my old PC and now I put it in my new PC as the slave and all that jazz. Now when I turn on the PC it doesn't acknowledge the fact there is another hard drive in there. Help please I DO NOT want to rescan and edit all those family problems. Hoth computers have windows xp I forget what version the old one has.

Is the old drive an IDE hard drive? If so did you change the jumper setting on the rear to either slave or cable select? Also make sure the bios recognizes the drive first.

the drive is recognized by the computer in hardware but i cant get access to it.
