.NET "out of memory" error

  1. I have a samsung Q35 laptop with a 512MB on-board memory, I put a 2GB stick in the only slot accessible to me to make the total of 2.5GB. Ever since I did that whenever I tried to use Wallpapers changer in WinXP Manager, .NET would give me "out of memory" error. If I use the /maxmem and set it to the max it allowed me to which is "2048MB" then it would be fine but I will lose 512MB of RAM.This is happening with and without the Page File. I tried to Edit the boot file and make the /maxmem to "2552MB" it will still give me the same error. Is anyone know what to do? please help. thanks.

For your Sam Q35, you are likely asking it to do something it cannot do.
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-4200,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot. Chipset: Intel 945GM, Slots: 1 bank of 1 Maximum memory 1280 or 1536 MB, depending on the machine; Standard Memory is 256 or 512 MB non-removable, depending on the machine
