Netflix boss says the service has never canceled a successful show

When Netflix was basically the "only" movie streaming service, they had it all.
But, all of the movie producing & tv networks have their own streaming services, PULLED most of the
content people went to Netflix to stream.
Now, they are stuck with older movies & shows, and things they produce themselves.
Maybe in the future, Netflix will end up like Blockbuster.

I'm still a fan of one "service" that delivers it all...

I was fine when it was Netflix but now that it's no one and everyone wants to stretch me across dozens of services.... I'm out.... Well sorta.

I'm absolutely willing to pay just like with music which I've been getting through Spotify or YouTube music for a long time and glad to pay for.

But I won't get nickled and dimed to death by 10+ companies charging me $10+ a month.

My way I'm still paying but its their fault its not going to them.

Let's be honest though, they could have easily got it back on track if they had a third season. It's why I used the show as a pure example of a series being cancelled too early and still has a reasonable fan base out there.

If they messed up the third season as well, then I could understand ending it. Ending after two Seasons though, when the first was so good and the second wasn't rubbish but, just not as good as the first and honestly, the first was so good it was always going to be a tough act to follow, at least in a third season you can see where the show is heading.

I fully agree with you. But unfortunately Netflix just doesn't seem to care about potential after a season doesn't do too well.

Wow what a fu#king liar. Earlier this year they cancelled Blade after just 1 season despite having excellent viewer numbers and good reviews. And of course let's not forget Stranger Things. You can do a google search and see the shows they've cancelled and there are cr@p loads of really good shows killed off.

There are good shows that Netflix cancelled and it is very annoying. They left a cliffhanger with the last episode and with the story still incomplete, cancelling it just leaves a bad "after taste". In any case, I agree that good shows may not be the one raking in the money, thus, deemed as "unsuccessful". However, it just encourages people to not be bothered with these supposed Netflix original shows because they can get canned anytime.

I'll sign up for flix again when they stop cancelling all the shows that I like. I'm not paying for panel written, profit driven, puppet shows. I need a story not the mindless muck they are trying to shoehorn into my world and claim it is entertainment. Mindless fuggery is not the opiate of the masses I signed up for.

Until then I'll sail the high seas!

I was seriously disappointed when they cancelled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Netflix, FU. I don't even watch NetFlix and I get it for free.

Altered Carbon for me was one I was a bit upset to see cancelled so quickly, I really enjoyed the first season.

Yes! One of the best sci-fi shows ever created IMO.
I guess it was to deep and clever. Most people prefer simple and stupid shows such as the Squid Game (it was ok)…
Also, the police lady in the first seasons should have played Lara Croft! She was awosome!
I guess that would not go down well with the woke crowd… an actual woman who is feminine playing the role of Lara Croft….

How to tell the world you haven't read the books without saying that you haven't read the books.

To those confused, the names are pretty much the ONLY thing they just did not straight up recreate from the books. The entire first season is just the story from the books retold in a visual format. I was hoping for more stuff from the games, but the games take place after the book series ends, so it wouldn't make sense.
