Network adapter slow to connect

When ever I turn on my computer regardless if it's from Sleep Mode or Cold Start, it takes ages to connect to the internet (up to 5 mins sometimes). It says "Identifying" (See Attached pic)

Is this normal for others? I was thinking is the network adapter in sleep mode or something? Maybe that's why it takes a while to connect?

Any ideas appreciated,
Josh.

My built-in LAN connection typically takes a couple of seconds more or less whenever I cold start my PCs. Maybe you could try updating the driver.

You might also try power cycling your cable modem and router. Also try starting in Safe Mode with Networking to see if same problem

Oh. One more thought. Check for any firmware upgrades for your router as well

Yeah figure it's a modem thing.
When its "Identifying" I can't log into the modem. Just got to figure it out now.
