New hardware detection problem in Windows 7

Hi Friends,

i have hp notebook and i am installing windows7 in it but when i connet external usb hdd with it. it can't auto detect ,i have to go manage device and manualy detect it. then it is showing in my computer. so what can i do for this to auto detect ???? please4 help me

I recently posted similar info HERE on Disk Management

But you may also need to go to Device Manager and remove the Drive first
