    New Socket For Intel Chips?

Looks like it's been confirmed that Intel has changed the socket 478 platform, which means the Prescott will not work with current motherboards. The final specs are not out yet, so even though it's confirmed, I consider it a rumor. Read more here

From what I read (possibly incorrect), Intel will also be releasing socket 478 compatable 'Prescott' cores as well as the new ones. Not too bothered myself as I have an AMD system.

i dont think they'll get rid of the 478 platform yet because they've only just released the p4C
