Microsoft has unleashed a new Windows 10 Mobile preview build, bringing with it a range of new features and changes, and better compatibility with the wide range of Windows Phones on the market.

In the Windows 10 Mobile preview build 10080, Microsoft has introduced a beta version of the Windows Store, which has been built as a universal app with an interface similar to the desktop Store. Microsoft says this Windows Store beta is far from feature complete, but critical functionality, such as the ability to find and download apps, has been included.

This new preview build also brings Microsoft's universal Office applications to phones for the first time. The apps aren't pre-loaded by default, but thanks to the inclusion of the Windows Store beta, you can now download updated versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote to preview and test out for yourselves.

Microsoft has included a new Xbox app with this preview build of Windows 10 Mobile, which contains most of the functionality available in the Windows 10 desktop app. This includes the ability to access your activity feed, view your achievements, watch Game DVR clips, connect with your Xbox One, and view and message your friends.

Rounding out the changes and additions are new Music and Video applications, as well as an updated camera application that isn't fully supported on higher-end Lumia devices.

Build 10080 should now be available for Windows Insiders using the Fast Ring on either a Lumia device or HTC's One M8 for Windows, the latter of which was previously incompatible with Windows 10 Mobile previews due to scaling issues. The preview should also now be available for Microsoft's more recent Lumias, such as the Lumia 930 and Lumia 640 XL.
